Optical bonding, both with OCA Tape (Optical Clear Adhesive) and LOCA (Liquid Optical Clear Adhesive), is used for a wide range of electronic components.
Current technology and market trends show that there is a rapid increase in products that require touch panels. These include devices for the smart home, mobile devices as well as systems in the automotive sector.
Displays and touch screens are increasingly becoming the critical components of modern devices.
The principle of OCA and LOCA
With OCA/LOCA, optical bonding is used to bond the touch panel to the display, as well as any cover glass (lenses or PMMA) to touch panels.
Optical bonding (OCA/LOCA) offers various advantages:
- Production of displays without air pockets
- Improve clarity and optical properties of displays by reducing reflected light
- Increasing the durability of displays and touch panels
